Players Committee Inc receives $10,000 MassMutual Foundation Grant

Mercerville, NJ, - Players Committee Inc, a charity that works with students to help overcome social anxiety, has received a $10,000 grant from the MassMutual Foundation as part of a national Community Service Award (CSA) program. Players Committee Inc is one of twenty-two organizations nationally to receive an award. The MassMutual Foundation made the grant as a tribute to the volunteer efforts of Scott Lingrell, a MassMutual agent with Jaraiedi Financial Group in Lawrenceville, NJ.

“We are stronger when we come together as a community, and our Community Service Awards program recognizes a group of MassMutual financial professionals who embody this spirit, working with members of their respective neighborhoods, towns and cities, helping nonprofits with which they are involved grow and thrive,” said Dennis Duquette, Head of MassMutual Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation.   “We are proud of the time and energy Scott dedicates to better his community and delighted to support the great work MassMutual financial professionals do with organizations across the country.”

The Players Committee mission is to use games as a way to teach kids about game theory, math, critical (and creative) thinking, along with sportsmanship, fair play, and a sense of community.  In doing this, it helps kids overcome social anxiety and brings people with different backgrounds together over one common interest.

“The grant is going to be used to upgrade the website to allow the teachers and students to better collaborate and share ideas.  In addition, it will be used to help train new teachers on how to help more students in their school.”

Scott has been with Jaraiedi Financial Group for 15 years. He has been committed to Players Committee Inc since 2008 and has dedicated countless hours of time and talent to help the organization grow and flourish.

“I am very pleased that my dedication to the Players Committee Inc has been recognized by the MassMutual Foundation,” said Scott. “This grant will provide much needed funding to continue supporting our community through being able to train other teachers and expand the program nationwide”
